GUSAC has been conducting a multidisciplinary technical fest Prerana in GITAM Bengaluru campus since 2014 every year. It is a three days festival that truly reflects a new dimension in Technology. The activities include Seminars, Guest lectures, Workshops, Technical Quiz, Technical games, competitions and working models and Science Exhibitions. Students from various colleges and universities of Bengaluru and North Karnataka participate with enthusiasm. Project expo, Survey Hunt, Line follower Robo., Cryptics, Webify are a few popular events under Prerana. Students of all the four branches of Engineering conduct these events and also participate with enthusiasm.

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C V Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. National Science Day is being celebrated every year in GITAM BLR to widely spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. The first year students under the guidance of Science and Humanities departments conduct and participate in activities like science exhibition, science quiz, games and competitions. On this occasion, experts from Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru address the students to motivate and encourage them in their endeavors.

Every year on 15th September, Engineer’s Day is celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sir. Mokhsagundam Visweswaraya in the campus. Various events like short film on life of Visweswaraya, science exhibition and other competitions are conducted.

GITAM Bengaluru invites the students from Pre University Colleges from the neighboring places. Students and teaching faculty from various Pre University (PU) colleges in the neighborhood visit GITAM campus in Bengaluru Rural. The objective of the event was to bring awareness about the possible career opportunities among the Pre University students. The students visit GITAM campus and witness the infrastructure, laboratories, library, and various academic opportunities available on the campus in the fields of Engineering, Sciences and Management. This is also an opportunity for the teachers of the PU colleges to interact with the university faculty to know about professional development, research opportunities in various fields and so on.

Students of Engineering and Management actively conduct and participate in various activities under the guidance of department of Mathematics for three days, 20th to 22nd December every year. The events like Mathronaut (Maths Quiz), Amusing math in India (Presentations on Mathematicians of India), Math race (solve a problem and run), The Ma(th)ze runner (Maths Puzzles) and The Math Wall (Poster presentations) are very popular among the students in BLR Campus.

To motivate and guide the first year students of B.Tech. and B.Sc., Fresher’s Day is celebrated within one month of their admission into the campus. All the Heads of Departments, Activity Coordinators, Director and Pro Vice Chancellor address the novice and their parents. Selected senior students interact with the fresher’s and introduce various student clubs, activities conducted and also share their experiences in the campus.

Cultural events are organized by Kalakrithi teams on every second Saturday with great enthusiasm and fervor. Students from all the branches of Engineering and Management team up to conduct and participate in the events. This activity has become very popular among all the students.

Ethnicity is the inspiration to shape one’s personality. Our traditions and cultures help us to craft our image in a vibrant outlook. Ethnic Day celebrations in GITAM Bengaluru Campus are celebrated in the month of December every year, which provides an opportunity to all the students to create a mini India with their dazzling, colorful exquisite traditional apparels. The innate desire of every young fellow to dress up, look good and feel great was accomplished through this event. It is indeed a pleasant emotional well-being display in the whole campus through their activities.

To mark International Women’s Day, GITAM Bengaluru celebrates every year on 8th March. Women of the campus, all the lady faculty, supporting staff and girl students of GITAM Bengaluru gather and interesting games, events and cultural events are organized on this occasion.
